Letter 12:

2024 - The Glory Restore

December 5, 2023

A letter to the Church,

The Lord has said to write down His intentions for 2024 mirrored in the account of scripture where King David brings back the ark of the covenant to the City of David with extravagance praise. He is calling 2024 the year of “The Glory Restore,” as the Lord is restoring His Church in arriving with His glory.

In Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, restore is a verb meaning: to give back, return, to put or bring back into existence or use, to bring back to or put back into a former or original state, and to put again in possession of something.

Also, the ark of the Lord can be synonymous with the glory of the Lord. With both references in mind, we will read this account in scripture. Then I will bring out in outline form what the Lord has highlighted from this text of things He intends to do.

2 Samuel 6:12b,23 NKJV

So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

The Lord is restoring His Church by His glory arriving in greater measure in 2024. Please prayerfully consider the follow along with scriptural confirmations the Spirit of God would be saying to you as we look through this account verse by verse.

2 Samuel 6:12b,23 NKJV

12b.) So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 13.) And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.

  • The Lord desires a renewed reverence and consecration to the Sabbath day set aside for Him, and desires we greet it and Him with gladness.

  • We can also expect that a greater concentration of His glory would permeate in continued pursuit of Him throughout the duration of the year, as He draws closer in progression.

14.) Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.

  • The Lord desires we prioritize seeking after Him in a greater measure of wholeheartedness, in holding nothing back, with extravagant praise in the knowledge of our rightful place as kings and priest unto our God in the earth.

15.) So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

  • Access to this glory comes through the corporate unity and extravagant pursuit of the Lord in oneness of heart towards God.

16.) Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

  • Those who will not humble themselves in seeking the Lord extravagantly as little children, seeing themselves as too high and pious to seek Him with great expressions of love, will end up barren of vision and anointing as did Michal.

17.) So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it.

  • The glory of God will facilitate the restoration, or the reformation of the Church in accordance with the design of the Lord’s heart.

Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

  • Houses in this godly order will create glory tunnels of prayer where we will accomplish more in times of prayer than we dream possible.

18.) And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

  • The blessing of the Lord will mark those who are in churches who sit under this mature spiritual leadership, as a return to giving themselves to the word and prayer is re-emphasised with a freshness of revelation that God breathes on time in His word this year.

19.) Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.

  • These ministry gifts will fulfill their mandate of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry with full course meals. Both men and women will be given equal priority as both hold their God given value rightly, and the Church will go and do the ministry they have been prepared to do.

20.) Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

  • Measures of persecution will be aimed at His glory. Those lacking humility to enter into this place of glory will deflect personal responsibility in fault finding in bold leadership in an attempt to quench what they cannot control or will not repent of.

21.) So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. 22.) And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”

  • Church leadership responding to measures of persecution, criticism and mockings with greater measures of extravagance towards God will birth greater boldness in the Church’s witness towards God, and this scripture promises unity in the Church as the saints follow suit.

23.) Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

  • Churches following after the rebellion of Saul and in opposition to the move of the Spirit of God will dry up in life and vision as a gracious judgment of God in that they might repent and return to their first love.

In conclusion, it is my prayer that we as His Church would align ourselves with His intentions for 2024 in all humility of heart and in continued prayer for the boldness upon those whom He has set in church leadership as it has pleased Him.

Lord, let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
